Central Christian Church of Van Nuys was organized on Nov. 7, 1919, in 1920 it was incorporated as "Church of Christ of Van Nuys" then the name was changed in 1923 to Central Christian Church of Van Nuys.
Photograph caption dated November 9, 1959 reads, "Ready Celebration -- Central Christian Church of Van Nuys will mark its 40th birthday tomorrow. Discussing day-long event, from left, are : Mrs. Doris Rice, anniversary and homecoming celebration vice chairman; Malcolm Sears, chairman, and Tom Trainor, chairman of church board. Former ministers and state church leaders will take part in the program."
