Photograph caption dated January 21, 1954 reads, "'We're in the center of all this,' is what George A. Thatcher, president and director of Occidental Savings and Commercial Bank, seems to be saying as he points out various landmarks on the new bank's huge wall-mounted photomural. Obviously enjoying the 'tour' are directors and officers of the Valley's newest financial institution, left to right, F. M. 'Cap' Gettys, director; Norvald Ulvestad, director; Ray A. H. Brandt, assistant cashier; D. Jack Holland, assistant cashier; Mr. Thatcher, and Hobart W. Faulkner, vice president-cashier and director. The Occidental Bank opens officially tomorrow in an all-day and evening celebration."
