Description
A nine year old boy drinks water from a canteen while sitting on the ground near Usulután. He is a child soldier and an orphan, adopted by the Salvadoran Army and drafted into service. Beside him sits a Madsen machine gun, a World War II era weapon of Danish design, but unknown origin and manufacture. Richard Cross took this image in 1982 while covering the presidential election and War of Liberation in El Salvador. Un nine de Neve años toma agua de una cantimplora mientras yace sentado sobre la tierra cerca de sitting on the ground near Usulután. Él es un huérfano y niño soldado, adoptado por el miembros del Batallón Atlacatl del ejército salvadoreño y puesto al servicio del mismo.
