Description
Photograph caption dated January 9, 1958 reads "Joene Cavender, vice president of A12 graduating class, Verdugo Hills High School, and Mrs. Donald Colby, PTA president, spearhead activities for white elephant and bake sale, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow at school. Painting of white elephant and her baby in background are being used to spark interest in fund-raising event to sponsor annual all-night dance and party for graduates. Mrs. Colby, PTA board, and Mrs. Gjertrud Smith, principal, invite public to attend." Verdugo Hills is in the Tujunga community of Los Angeles.
