Description
Students stage a sit-in on May 6, 1975, outside Pendleton Business Building. The protests were in support of continued funding for the Black and Chicano Studies Center's Pre-Freshman program at the colleges, which targeted accepted Black and Chicano students and provided them with skills and support for entering college. The reluctance of many college administrators to provide continued and/or substantial funding to the program was seen by many as a threat to the existence of the Black and Chicano Studies Center as well as the Pre-Freshman program.
