Description
Article by Charles Handy on employees as unique individuals requiring unique treatment. Handy notes that, as organizations begin making fundamental changes in the way they operate, staff changes will also be a result of such alterations. An affirmation of the contributions and value of workers, as opposed to shareholders, in a company necessitates that they be treated in such a way that grants them more leverage and accommodation within an organization's structure. He predicts that, increasingly, more people may choose to operate as independents, contracting their services to different corporations, and that corporations will therefore progressively operate on a contractual basis with clients.
