Photograph article dated June 21, 1964 reads, "Five Valley junior high school students have won aviation writing awards in the ninth annual Airport Journalism contest. Millikan Junior High School placed first in the contest with trophy desk sets going to Elliot Shulman, Paula Nowells and Margaret Robin. Second place winner, Douglas Mantle, of Mulholland Junior High School, also received a trophy desk set. The winners also received round-trip tickets to San Francisco, courtesy of Pacific Southwest Airlines." Pictured is Douglas Mantle.
