Photograph caption dated November 27, 1953 reads, "It was a pleasant reunion in the Valley Times office when Jim Moran, standing, brought in a news release on the forthcoming Van Nuys Star of Bethlehem Parade. He met his erstwhile guardian, J.F. Hoerl, 95 still active building contractor and believed to be the oldest living native-born of Stockton. Mr. Hoerl was visiting a grandson, Charles Page, Times staff member, when Moran, Van Nuys Chamber of Commerce secretary-manager, dropped in. Mr. Hoerl is shown looking over parade plans."
