Description
Image of Sunset Trail from Linda Vista Park (present day Palisades Park) to Palisades Beach Road in Santa Monica, California. A sign hangs from a rustic wooden archway that reads "Sunset Trail to Palisades Beach Road." The 99 Steps can be seen over the Beach Road (later part of Pacific Coast Highway) at left and the Long Wharf is visible in the distance.
"Santa Monica, Cal." and "Taylor Photo"--text, on item. Caption in the book says this footpath leads from Linda Vista Park (later known as Palisades Park) to Sunset Beach. Title transcribed from item; date devised by cataloger based on style of postcard, presence of the Long Wharf, which was dismantled in 1920, and the automobile in image. Image reproduced in Ernest Marquez publication Santa Monica Beach (Angel City Press, 2004), p. 127.
