[Book of hours]: [f. 1, blank], f. 1v, almanac for 1513-1530. ff. 2-13v, calendar with standard entries in red and major feasts signified by blue or gold. ff. 14-19v, pericopes of the Gospels. ff. 20-54v, prayers (some in French) for various occasions (many related to the morning) and suffrages of Michael, John the Baptist, James the Greater, Christopher, Claude, Anne, Catherine of Alexandria, Barbara, Mary Magdalene. ff. 55-127, Incipiunt hore intemerate dei genitricis marie secundum usum romanum, with suffrages of All Saints, hours of the Cross and of the Holy Spirit worked in [f. 127v blank]. ff. 128-147, prayers (many related to the evening). ff. 147-154v, weekly variations of the psalms at matins for the hours of the Virgin. ff. 155-163v, Advent office for the hours of the Virgin. ff. 164-168v, prayers relating to the names of God and of Christ. f. 169, image, verses and prayer in French on the Memento Mori theme. ff. 170-174v, 10 commandments, 7 sacraments, 7 virtues and vices, 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit, 7 beatitudes, 10 virtues of the Virgin, all in French. ff. 175-193, penitential meditations in French. ff. 193v-194v, images and verses in French, contemplating death. ff. 195-205v, devotional meditations in French. ff. 206-217, narratives in Latin and in French pertaining to prayers of a certain pope, of St. Albert, of Master James of Pavia. ff. 217-221v, the standard three prayers in French to God the Father, two to Christ. ff. 222-224v, devotional readings in French and in Latin about fasting and other virtuous behaviors. Book of hours, use of Rome, written in France just before 1513, according to the almanac for 1513-1530 on f. 1v, which ends ""Dixhuit ans entiers et prochains venans"". Span folios: ff. 1-229 verso. Layout: 1⁶(+6) 2⁶ 3⁸ 4⁴ 5 (ff. 26-29 of uncertain structure; 28, 29 appear to be singletons) 6⁴ 7²(ff. 34-35, in darker ink) 8⁸(+ a leaf in the first half) 9⁸(+ a leaf in the second half) 10⁶ 11-18⁸ 19⁸(+5, f. 128) 20-23⁸ 24²(through f. 166) 25-31⁸ 32⁶(+7, f. 229, the former pastedown). Ruled space, 157 x 105 mm; 18 long lines ruled in pale red ink. Written in a gothic book hand of varying sizes according to liturgical function. Decoration: Thirty-seven full page illuminations in painted gold architectural frames, with 3 lines of text as if imposed by means of a label, in a style influenced by Bourdichon by possibly more than one artist. Smaller miniatures, occupying the width of the page but of varying height, serve as fillers for the space at the end of texts and often pertain iconographically to the following larger miniature; they are enclosed by simple painted gold frames. The initials of the full page miniatures, 3-line, either as white leaves or in blue with white shading, both types infilled in gold with naturalistic flowers or strawberries, the whole against a gold-decorated rust-colored ground; 2- and 1-line initials in painted gold on alternating rust or blue grounds; initials within the text washed in yellow.
