Photograph of women playing archery on the sand of a Los Angeles area beach, ca.1940. Nine women wearing bathing suits appear to be moving in various directions throughout the image. A woman to the left seems to pull at an arrow that is stuck in the round target set up on two poles. Five women in the center hold their bows as they go after the arrows that landed in the sand.
