Description
The purpose of this Atlas is to show the locations of Latino American population concentrations in California and to chart the growth of the Latino community in the decade of the 1980s. The Atlas begins with a map of the entire state, reflecting the Latino population data from the 1990 census. Following the state map are sections devoted to various regional and county areas, with each section incorporating 1980 and 1990 Latino population maps (to show population growth and movement over time), a written analysis, and charts which show Latino population in specific cities relative to the populations of certain other ethnic groups. Also presented in each section are keys to identify the cities located by number on the 1980 and 1990 maps, and tables which provide selected population statistics for those cities. Full demographic statistics on all cities in California are included in the appendices to this Atlas, along with statistics on those census tracts in California.
