Description: This photo was reproduced for an article published on October 29, 1955.
The sand dunes on the outskirts of El Segundo had been transformed into fertile farmlands. This scene shows a farm field in 1914. Most of the residents in those days were employees of Standard Oil refinery. The caption on the front of the photo reads, "Dry farming...on the outskirts of El Segundo."
