Ned Sparks was a comedian and charactor actor born on November 19, 1883 in Ontario, Canada. He worked in stage and film and became known for his trademark deadpan expression. Sparks appeared in 10 Broadway productions and over 80 films. He died on April 3, 1957.
Photograph caption dated January 23, 1934 reads "Ned Sparks, film comedian, isn't so funny to his wife, Mercedes, pictured above, as she appeared in court today for the trial of her separate maintenance suit and her husband's cross-complaint for divorce. Through her attorney, C. O. Bacon, she charged the comedian with cruelty." Sparkman is seated, wearing a fur coat.
