Designed by Elmer Grey and Myron Hunt, Throop Hall, one of the original campus buildings, was completed in 1910. As a result of the 1971 Sylmar earthquake, the structure was damaged beyond repair and was later demolished. Goodhue and Associates designed of the arcades, which were built in the 1920s.
