Description
This circa 1959 photograph shows the interior of the 903-seat Village Theater at 2925 Fulton Avenue. Set within Jere Strizek’s rustic Town and County Village shopping center, the Village was one of Sacramento’s original suburban movie houses, having been established in 1949/50. After its closure in 1985, it became a popular venue for bingo and it served, on occasion, as a concert spot. It was razed in 2006.
