Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of the Santa Monica beach looking north from the cliffs of Palisades Park, ca.1920. The steep cliffs of Palisades Park are at right. A dirt path runs from the top of the cliffs to the level at which the photograph was taken. The horizontal surfaces of the cliffs are covered with palm trees and bushes while the vertical surfaces are bare rock. Pacific Coast Highway is visible at the base of the cliffs at left and a beach borders the road at left. A line of early-model automobiles is parked along the edge of the sand, and may people are on the beach and in the waves.
