Description
Seal Court featured mosaic murals around the pond created by various students since the 1940s. The seals were originally designed by Lawrence Tenney Stevens, modeled in clay by Jean McBurney, and fired by William Manker, Scripps ceramics professor (1935-47). In 1990, Paul Soldner, Scripps ceramics professor (1957-91), recast the seals in bronze. Pictured here it was part of the Lang Art Building. A man and a woman are pictured looking at paintings.
