Photograph caption dated May 4, 1964 reads, "Verna Felton, honorary mayor of North Hollywood, purchased first $75 U.S. Savings bond to be sold in North Hollywood from Park Newcomer, right, local chairman of the drive. Bonds, which carry John F. Kennedy portrait, went on sale Friday. At left is Postmaster Everett Carpenter."
