"Senior Scholars." Group portrait of pupils and staff in the grounds of the Henry Henderson Institute, Blantyre, Nyasaland [Malawi]. Founded in 1909 and named after the man who had established the mission at Blantyre, the Institute offered a wide range of technical courses and training to young people who had completed their education at the village district school. At the Institute they were apprenticed for the full period of their training and boarded in the mission.
