A painted safety island is visible in the foreground next to the streetcar tracks. The building on the northwest corner of the intersection contains the Coast Furniture Company, the Paul G. Hoffman Company, and a Studebaker sign on the roof. A billboard behind the building proclaims it to be the future site of the Statler Hotel.
