Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on April 5, 1974 states: "Mary Beermann Elementary School in Lincoln is being sold to Lincoln businessman George Kwon for $84,800, ending four years effort to dispose of the structure and adjacent lot. The school was abandoned by the Placer Unified School District in 1971 because it failed to meet earthquake standards set by the Field Act for schools. The sale to Kwon came on the fourth attempt in as many years to dispose of the property, according to Superintendent Orrin Hoffman. Kwon's plans depend on the zoning the property will be assigned."
