Description
This 1955 photograph shows a busy Sacramento Municipal Airport at Freeport Boulevard. To the left of the frame is the original 1930 terminal while, to the right, is a newly completed one, designed by architect Leonard Starks and built by contractor Edwin Mackey. At the time this photograph was taken, the airport was servicing United Airlines, PSA, Western Airlines and West Coast Airlines. Municipal converted almost exclusively to private traffic in 1967 while also having its name changed to Sacramento Executive Airport.
