A bust-length studio portrait of Union Corporal Samuel Graybill of the 41st Ohio Infantry, in civilian clothing, with his body turned slightly to the left and his head turned very slightly to the right. Graybill is clean-shaven.
On verso there is a manuscript notation providing the location and date of Samuel Graybill's death, as well as a note to his parents. Note is transcribed below.
