Description
Photograph of a drawing (or lithograph) depicting a birdseye view of Ontario, California looking north along Euclid Avenue, 1898. Trees line either side of a streetcar track that runs up the center of the avenue, with automobiles navigating the pavement to either side. A large hotel is visible with a spire to the right side of the street in the foreground, with the residential area of the city spreading out behind it, the houses packed closely together on each block. Farther back, near the mountains, what appears to be farmland is visible. A small gazebo is depicted in the center foreground, where the streetcar tracks intersect railroad tracks. A train makes its way across the frame. The thoroughfare was apparently 200 feet wide and 15 miles long.
