A group of four armed guerrilleros dressed in civilian clothes stand as they talk in the middle of a street in Corinto. Meanwhile ,two residents, a man and a woman, walk by. The woman carries a pot on her head and the man carries a bucket on his right shoulder. All of the men are wearing hats. The four guerrilleros are holding M-16 assault rifles of U.S. origin. The Department of Morazán, where Corinto is located, was one of the poorest and most remote areas in El Salvador and it was the stronghold of the People's Revolutuonary Army (ERP), one of the five guerrilla factions of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMNL). By the end of February of 1983 the entire northern Morazán was in the hands of the FMLN. Un grupo de cuatro guerrilleros armados, vestidos en ropa de civil, hablan en medio de una calle de Corinto. Mientras tanto, dos residentes, un hombre y una mujer, pasan caminando. La mujer lleva una olla sobre su cabeza y el hombre lleva una cubeta sobre su hombro derecho.
