Description
Master whittler Elwin James Millerick was born on Nov. 25, 1911 and was a Petaluma and Sonoma County treasure. Through his recreations of historic scenes and buildings, he brought Sonoma County history alive in an intriguingly tactile way. Through narration by Millerick himself, Sonoma County historian Gaye LeBaron and Sonoma County Museum director Eric Nelson, and still photographs showing the Petaluma of his youth and many of his works. Millerick died at age 85 on January 3, 1997. Many of his works are now housed in the Sonoma County Museum.
