Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Shell Oil Company, ca.1940. A paved road lies across the foreground with the company just behind it and an intersecting road dividing the structures on the left. Two tall, skeletal buildings stand at center with many thick pipes extending from the interior to short, house-like structures below. Several shorter, cylindrical towers stand to the right with staircases climbing up their sides. Tall pipes stand along the right edge of the road on the left secreting smoke from their tops while small buildings stand with shorter pipes on the left of the road.
