Description
"Taken from S.W. corner of manse." Distant view of St Michael and All Angels church, Blantyre, Nyasaland [Malawi]. The red brick church was built using local labour and local materials between the years 1888 and 1891. It was built under the direction and supervision of Rev. David Clement Scott (1853-1907). Scott was not an architect by training and did not draw up formal plans but his design for the church was ambitious and included domes, arches and flying buttresses.
