Note: Publiziert (HB 1943, Nr. 9: 120-121 Bildbericht. Legende zum Bild: "Der Kirchenrat der Malabarkirche. Anlässlich der Inspektionsreise von Dir. Hartenstein 1932 versammelt. Die Distriktskirche von Malabar, die schon nach dem letzten Weltkrieg der Südindischen Vereinigten Kirche beigetreten ist, ist entschlossen, nun auch der grossen Kirchen-Union Südindiens sich anzuschliessen, während ihre Schwesterkirchen in Kanara und Südmahratta, die mit ihr zu einer vereinigten Basler Kirche zusammengeschlossen sind, noch eine zuwartende Haltung einnehmen. The district church in Malabar, which joined the South Indian Union Church already after the last World War, has decided to join in the larger church union planned in South India. But the sister churches in Kanara and South Mahratta, which together make up the United Basel Church, are still waiting to see what will happen. The present time challenges the small mission churches to join together into a larger church body so that the church as a whole, which is weakened by being so split up, can unite and have a stronger position. On the photograph the missionary Fritz Mack, who died on 7th June during an abdominal operation in the prison camp at Dera Dun, can be seen in the second row from the bottom, the second man from the left."
