Description: Photo shows the thunderous flames and dense smoke rising from giant oil tanks in the Hancock Oil refinery as the disastrous fire swept through the area. Fire started when an oil tank buckled, oil poured out and an explosion followed. In foreground are some of the many burned autos. Photo dated: May 23, 1958.
