The picture shows the entrance of a church building. Stairs lead up to two entrance doors. Above them an electric lamp. In front of the church stands a group of children of African origin in a circle. The children hold each other by their hands. On the left stand a young and an older man and a woman. All probably of mixed origin. Behind them on the left a wooden fence and a tree. Written on the card board: "9.2.34. P. Theile." Cf. photo no. 9660, 9661 and no. 9663. -- Photo no. 9660 shows Daniel and Rudolph Joorst with some other family member. Photo no. 9661 shows Rudolph Joorst. Photo no. 9663 shows the entrance doors of the church from the distance. -- Daniel Joorst (1873, Elim -1958, Elim) was a teacher and missionary in Mamre. From 1922 to 1929 he worked in Pella and from 19929 to 1943 in Moravian Hope. His son Rudolph Joorst worked as teacher and missionary in Moravian Hope from 1938 to 1947 and in Moutonsvallei from 1947 to 1954.
