The $2,500,000. research and development center of the Richfield Oil Corp. was built on a 20-acre site adjacent to the Santa Ana Freeway at the west edge of Anaheim, and opened on October 23, 1956. It comprises a laboratory building, administration building, pilot plant, engine laboratory building, shops and a warehouse building.
