Moral Re-Armament (MRA) was an international movement that developed from American minister Frank Buchman's Oxford Group. Buchman headed MRA from 1938 until his death in 1961.The movement had Christian roots, but it grew into an informal, international network of people of all faiths and backgrounds. Based around what it called the "Four Absolutes" (honesty, purity, unselfishness and love), it encouraged its members to be involved in political and social issues. The name of the group was changed to Initiatives of Change in 2001. Photograph caption dated May 2, 1957 reads "Filmed in Africa, written and acted by Africans, the production will be shown at the Boulevard Theater, Vermont and Washington, May 6 and 7 at 8:30 p.m. C. B. DeMille (here) congratulated performers after the world premiere recently at the Egyptian Theater. Tickets (without charge) may be obtained at the Boulevard Theater box office now through May 7--or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to MRS, 833 South Flower St., Los Angeles."
