Description
Photograph of the Home Union Building and large department store after the 1906 earthquake in San Jose, April, 1906. A wooden wagon with large wheels stands in the foreground with a man in a dark suit and hat standing just to the right. The building still stands, although heavily damaged, on the street behind with piles of debris scattered in front of it. The roof is collapsing at center and the outer walls of the second floor has crumbled, leaving the rooms exposed. The walls still stand on the first floor while dust rises from the debris in front of it.
