Photograph caption dated January 25, 1964 reads, "Nancy Stearns holds one of 15 puppies born to 'Gypsy,' a Labrador retriever, owned by her and her husband, John, 6442 Whitaker Ave., Van Nuys. It took Gypsy 11 hours to produce her littler. Formula given puppies is a combination of egg yolk, canned milk and water in a baby bottle."
