Description
View of Holmes Hall. On the top margin of the photograph, the handwriting reads: "Holmes Hall - Pomona College - about 1894 - from East side." On the right margin, the handwriting contains arrows pointing to two houses. The upper one reads "Dean Norton's house" and the lower, "Miss Lee's." The left margin also has an arrow pointing to a house, and the handwriting reads, "A.P. Condit house." Part of the bottom margin is missing, but the legible handwriting reads: "east wing, at the rear was the College Chapel & housed Claremont Church until 1906. Student attendance at daily Chapel and Sunday Church service was compulsory."
