Description
Looking east on 5th Street and Grand Avenue. The Biltmore Hotel and Theater is on the right, and the Biltmore hotel parking garage is on the left. Built in 1923, the Biltmore has 1,500 rooms and is 14 stories high. Architects: Schultze & Weaver. The Philharmonic Auditorium sits in the middle left, wedged between several other buildings, on the northeast corner of 5th and Olive, facing Pershing Square. Charles F. Wittlesey designed the original building in 1906, and Stiles O. Clements remodeled the facade in 1938. Cars traveling east and west bound on 5th Street, other cars driving northbound on Grand Avenue.
