Description
A large group of students sit and talk in a dimly lit, tavern-like room. "A little dinner and a lot of singing." "Bulldogging an angry steer or riding a bucking bronco may be strange to many people in the modern West, but not to students of the Claremont Colleges. Of course, the Ranch Party rodeo used calves instead of a steer and broncos, but the principle was the same. After dinner, volleyball, and singing in the ranch house, Jim Barden's well planned day concluded with dancing, square dancing, and lots more singing. In spite of cold food and run-away calves, everyone had fun, and the world population of cowboys (and cowgirls) increased considerably." (p. 61, 1962 Harvey Mudd Spectrum)
