Photograph caption dated March 2, 1955 reads "Plans to form Valley Plaza Merchants Association is headed by left to right, seated, John Hawkins, Sears manager; Bob Martsch, area Business and Professional Association president; and standing, Ed Scott, secretary-manager of the North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce; George Thatcher, president of the Occidental Bank. Store and shop keepers of the Valley Plaza area attended the meeting."
