Description
This oblique aerial view was captured by the U.S. Army Air Corps' Fifteenth Photo Section. The Sacramento River waterfront is still dominated by docks and warehouses. Other features include the railyards at left, the city gas works at lower right, and the American River and Sierra Nevada crest in the background. The city's skyline includes the "big four"- the State Capitol, the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, the Cal West Building and the Elks Building.
