Description
Can label for Golden California brand Sliced Apricots, packed by Central California Canneries Corp., Sacramento, California. Label features an illustration of gold miners, two golden apricots and the Central California Canneries. Central California Canneries merged with Griffen & Skelley, the J.K. Armsby Company, and the California Fruit Canners Association to become the California Packing Corporation in 1916 [Calpak]. Calpak sold its products under a number of proprietary and distributive labels, including their premium brand, Del Monte. In June 1967, the company name was officially changed to the Del Monte Corporation.
