Description
Five generations of the Francis J. Smith family have lived in this well kept home in the heart of what was the thriving little farm community of Evergreen. Built in 1873 of redwood, it cost Smith all of $400. The Smith general store was next door and Smith also served as the community's post master. In recent years it was the home of a daughter, "Aunt Kate" Smith, a long-time teacher who died in 1973 at the age of 103.
