Description
This 1960 photograph shows the venue utilized by Music Circus, a long standing musical and theater company in Sacramento. Located at 1419 H Street, the venue held approximately 2,500 seats. Its construction was dedicated on May 9, 1949, when Governor Earl Warren - having strolled down from the Governor's Mansion at Sixteenth and H Streets - and Sacramento Mayor Belle Cooledge took shovels and broke ground on what would be known as the 70,000 dollar Eaglet, eventually growing into the much larger Music Circus and giving Sacramento its most viable theatrical option since the closure of the Clunie Theater in 1923.
