Description
Photograph of men loading a Douglas airliner, April 1940. At center, a man dressed in a formal, darkly colored uniform and pilot's hat stands next to the open hatch of the metallic airliner. With one arm, the man holds the several packages visible within the plane. With the other arm, he accepts another package being handed to him by another man standing to the right near the propeller. This man is seen leaning on a stepladder against the plane. Several packages can be seen near the base of the ladder. To the left of the plane in the foreground, another man is visible carrying a large sack over his shoulder. A wheeled cart to his left is seen with several more sacks.
