Photograph caption dated November 23, 1964 reads, "Palm Desert artist Al Merryman displays his art of JFK and Rev. Chase." Mrs. Merryman poses with the artist. The text on the painting reads, "President John F. Kennedy being greeted at Palm Desert's Sacred Heart Church by assistant pastor Father Maurice Chase, September 29, 1963."
