Photograph caption dated October 22, 1962 reads "Joyce Cantrell, librarian, displays some of the books being offered by the Los Angeles Public Library bookmobile in the Platt Ranch area of the West Valley. This week is the first that service has been extended to this area. The bookmobile will be at a parking lot at Victory Blvd. and Platt Ave. every Tuesday from 10:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Checking over the volumes are Ralph Sutherland, president of the Merchants Association, and Buff Crossley, field representative for Valley Councilman Thomas Shepard."
