Photograph shows the hoist house for lifting lumber from Barney Cussick's Smokey Creek Mill over the ridge to reach the flume in Big Chico Creek. Cussick evidently operated this mill on contract while he was also logging superintendent for the Sierra Lumber Company on their Chico Division.
