Peter A. Georgescu, chairman emeritus of Young & Rubicam Inc., writes Peter Drucker recalling how helpful Drucker was to him on issues concerning Dentsu and Japan in the 1990s. He shares that since retiring from Y&R in 2000, he has dedicated about 40% of his time to not-for-profit ventures. Georgescu says that his real passion during these years has been planning and writing two books. He explains that one of the books, called "The Source of Success," outlines critical principles for success in the 21st century, and advocates the adoption of enduring principles for both business success and personal fulfillment. Georgescu asks Drucker if he would consider endorsing the book, and goes on to say that Drucker's wisdom is a great legacy and a most valuable gift. The letter contains Georgescu's original signature. The letter also contains Drucker's original handwritten note declining Georgescu's request.
