Photograph caption dated August 19, 1961 reads, "Slitting machine cuts exacting widths - R and R Tool and Die Company's slitting machine enables operator Gene Valentine, 20410 Marilla St., Chatsworth, to cut various width stock to exacting strips. Costing some $17,500, machine is so accurate that Van Nuys firm can cut stock down to .001 of an inch in thickness and .01 of an inch in width."
